Runescape Aviansies Guide
80Welcome to my Runescape Aviansie guide. Aviansies are the bird-like creatures in the God Wars Dungeon that follow the god Armadyl. They can only be hurt by ranged or magic attacks and can hurt you pretty bad if you arent prepared. They can give a high rate of income cash per hour (upwards of 200k if you're good) and also give decent ranged experience (40k an hour is a good estimate). All of these estimates will increase as your levels increase. For example: Someone with 99 Defence and 90 Ranged wont have to eat nearly as much, and can kill more quickly.
Some skills I would recomend are:
- 70+ Ranged
- 70+ Defence
- 70+ Constitution
- Either 60 Strength or 60 Agility (to get into the dungeon)
- 55 Slayer
- 61 Magic (if Eadgar's Ruse is completed)
You will also need the following quests:
- Troll Stronghold *REQUIRED*
- Eadgar's Ruse (for the Trollheim Teleport)
A good example of equipment to use is:
- Helm: Zamorak Coif
- Amulet: Amulet of Ranging
- Torso: Armadyl Chestplate or Armadyl Dragonhide
- Legs: Torag's Platelegs
- Boots: Snakeskin boots
- Gloves: Saradomin Vambraces
- Weapon: Rune Crossbow
- Shield: Granite Shield
- Bolts: Broad-tipped Bolts (if 55+ Slayer) or Mithril-Adamant Bolts
- Cape: Ava's Attractor/Accumulator
- Ring: Ring of Wealth
The general idea is to have one item of Armadyl, Zamorak, and Saradomin (although a Saradomin item isn't necessary if you dont mind taking a few hits when you first enter the God Wars Dungeon), while trying to keep a nice balance between your Ranged attack bonus and your Ranged defence bonus. Also, try to keep a non-metal piece of armor on your torso because metal armor there will cause Ava's device to not return your ammo.
A good inventory set-up to use is to bring:
- 5-10 Bones to Peaches Tablets
- 3-4 Ranging Potions
- Excaliber (the special attack gives a good Defence boost; requires completion of the Merlin's Crystal quest)
- Mithril Grapple
- 500 Fire Runes and 100 Nature Runes (for High Alchemy)
- Rope (only needed on your first trip to the God Wars Dungeon)
The rest of your invintory should be filled with Swordfish or Monkfish. If you have a high enough Summoning level, you could also bring a Bunyip pouch to greatly reduce your need for food.
There are two ways to get there. If you haven't completed Eadgar's Ruse, use a Games Neclace to teleport to the Burthrope Games Room and use the bank under the pub to gear up, and walk from there to the God Wars Dungeon. This method requires the use of climbing boots and is a much longer route.
The other method is to use the Trollhiem Teleport and use various shortcuts to get off of the mountain before walking a short distance to the God Wars Dungeon area.
In both methods it is advised to turn on the Protect from Missle prayer so that the trolls wont waste any food. After going past the rock, via either moving it or through the crack, walk past the wolves and to the dungeon entrance. If this is your first time here talk with the Dying knight and then use the rope on the entrance. After you go down the entrance, run immediately south and use your Mithril Grapple to get into Armadyl's Eyre. Once there, equip your ammunition of choice and begin killing. The Aviansies' levels range from 68 to 148, and if you aren't carefull the stronger ones will dispatch of you rather quickly. I recommend killing only aviansies that are under level 100 for the fastest kills in relation to the loot. The loot worth picking up is:
- Some runes (use your judgement; some aren't worth keeping and others are)
- Adamant bars (these are noted and stackable, and are always dropped in sets of 4)
- Rune dagger(p+)
- Runite Limbs
- Clue Scrolls
Cast High Alchemy on the rune items to turn those items directly into cash, while also saving your invintory spaces. **Be careful if you are using a Fire staff as it is common to accidently cast alchemy on your crossbow.** As you eat food pick up the bones that are being dropped, and after you get a full inventory of bones, or if you are out of other food and running low on health points, break a Bones to Peaches Tablet. These tablets turn all of the bones in your invintory into peaches, which heal 80 Hit Points each! If you have the right set up and skills, you could stay here for hours at a time making money and training your ranged level.
